Nanny First Aid Certificates & CRB DisclosuresThe London Nanny Agency makes children’s safety, security and happiness its number one priority. For all of the nannies that find a job through our agency, we pay for them to complete a pediatric first aid course and process an Enhanced Disclosure by Criminal Records Bureau. Although we guarantee any nanny you employ through our agency will be granted both, we also believe it important for parents to understand these procedures. Paediatric First Aid CertificatesLondon has a variety of organisations that host pediatric first aid courses, but for nannies, a general first aid certificate will not suffice. First aid and life saving techniques for babies and children are very different from those for adults since their bodies are smaller and much more delicate. For the best paediatric first aid and lifesaving courses, The London Nanny Agency recommends those offered by the Safe & Sound Organisation. The Safe & Sound Organisation has venues scattered all around London to make travelling to and from the course quick and easy. Each course is 3-hours long and nannies can opt to take them on separate evenings or together on a Saturday. Parents are more than welcome to register for any of Safe & Sound’s courses. Safe and Sound also offers private courses, which can be held in the comfort of your home. Enhanced Disclosures from the UK Criminal Records BureauAn Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau is not the same as a police check – it is much more thorough, the highest level of check. An Enhanced Disclosure is considered invalid after one year and it is standard procedure for your nanny to complete a new one on an annual basis. An Enhanced Disclosure from the UK Criminal Records Bureau checks the following: -Whether an individual has been banned from working with children in a childcare role. If so, their name appears on the Protection of Children Act’s list. -Whether an individual has been convicted of any offences. -Whether an individual appears on what is formerly known as ‘List 99’. It is more recently referred to as Section 142 of the Education Act 2002. The London Nanny Agency pays a nanny’s fees for these courses as well as the Enhanced CRB Disclosure in order to promote the safety, security and happiness of our clients’ children.
